As for the support model for caregivers in Hong Kong, we can divide it into three areas: Micro, Meso and Macro level. In the last two sessions, we talked about how to support caregivers in the macro and meso modes respectively. Today we will introduce the model for supporting micro caregivers.

From the caregiver's perspective, the personal characteristics of caregivers are analyzed, including demographics, caregiving experience and stages, skills and needs of caregivers. Caregivers have different needs, e.g. in terms of caregiving skills, finances, medical care, support services, employment and psychology. Societies and governments should take different approaches to improving each need.

From the care recipients' perspective, due to the different physical conditions of each care recipients, society and government should consider the needs of different individuals in order to comprehensively protect caregivers and care recipients.
