Ways to help young carers

2024-10-09 12:42:53

Young caregivers face different challenges on the path to learning and care. Both the government and schools have a role to play in relieving them. In today's series, we present four ways you can help them:

  Staff training
Train teachers and staff to raise their awareness of young academic carers and address potential issues and associated needs.

  Tuition support
Provide tuition assistance for young caregivers in school to alleviate their financial burden.

  Care services
Government agencies or foster homes can provide caregiver services that allow caregivers to focus while they study for work or school.

  Psychological support
Psychological support can help them find a way to express their worries and feelings, reducing psychological stress.

Carers do not have it easy, especially for young people the pressure to juggle family and academic commitments is unimaginable. The government, schools and even the community can play a role in recognising, helping and supporting these young people so they do not feel lonely!
